This show is a crystallisation of the feelings and obsessions of artists from all over the country, whether it is their first painting since primary school or they are world famous.
Please note that Grayson’s Art Club Exhibition has been cancelled due to current lockdown restrictions. However, you can view the official curator’s video of the exhibition and visit Grayson’s official art club website. The links are featured further down in this article.
I found Grayson’s Art Club on Channel 4 TV a blissful diversion during the sadness and drudgery of the pandemic and its consequent lockdowns.

Due to the pandemic and subsequent first lockdown, Grayson Perry and his wife Philippa Perry hosted Series 1 of the art club on Channel 4 TV, asking viewers to submit an art work on a given theme announced each week.
During each episode Grayson selected his favourite piece of work, which was to have been shown at the Manchester Art Gallery in late November 2020.
For me Grayson’s Art Club became cult viewing. The programme aired on Channel 4* early in the first lockdown of 2020 and culminated before the planned opening of Grayson’s Art Club exhibition at the renowned Manchester Art Gallery on 25th of November 2020.
*Registration required. The programmes may not be available to viewers outside the UK.
Due to the new UK lockdown announced in late November, Grayson’s Art Club Exhibition at the Manchester Art Gallery had to be cancelled, in line with lockdown regulations.
